BULUKUMBA – The Southern Journalists Forum (FJS) condemned the brutal actions of Israeli soldiers who attacked the photojournalist Mu’ath Amarneh. At that time, Mu’ath Amarneh was covering protests against Jewish settlements that led to clashes.
“Our Southern Journalists Forum (FJS) regrets the bad attitude of the Israeli authorities. We condemn the actions of Israel police who hurt journalists (photos) while on duty,” said Suparman, Chair of the FJS, based in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi.

Suparman and a number of local journalists also took part in a solidarity action covering their eyes with bandages. They also invited journalists from FJS members to spread a solidarity campaign with the hashtags #EyeofTruth and #MuathEye.
They support photojournalist Mu’ath Amarneh, who was seriously injured on Friday during coverage of protests in the southern West Bank, Palestine.
Amarneh lost his left eye due to a metal bullet fired by an Israel soldier in the Surif region of the governor of Hebron. Mu “ath had to undergo several operations due to a bullet in the eye.
