Makassar, Beritabulukumba.com – A group of 10 talented young singers from Bulukumba took part in the Dangdut Academy 7 (DA7) audition held by Indosiar in Makassar on Sunday, April 20, 2025.
They competed against over 1,000 contestants from across South Sulawesi and even beyond the island.
Among the 10 contestants from Bulukumba, four managed to break through to the Top 28. The four advancing singers are Hafisah, Diva, Mira, and Tasya.
They earned their spots after passing the second round of judging, which was mentored directly by Selfi Yamma, the DA7 champion from South Sulawesi.
“Alhamdulillah, four contestants from Bulukumba made it to the Top 28. They’re now waiting for the next round of selection. Hopefully, they can continue all the way to Jakarta,” said Mustari, a Bulukumba-based art observer, in a statement to Beritabulukumba.com.
Mustari also praised the participation of all 10 Bulukumba contestants, calling it a sign of the region’s growing musical talent.
“This proves that Bulukumba, the Land of Panrita Lopi, is rich with young talent in the music scene, especially dangdut. I hope they can follow in the footsteps of previous singers from Bulukumba who have succeeded in DA, KDI, and LIDA,” he added.
DA7 is one of Indosiar’s annual talent search programs, known for discovering and launching some of the nation’s top dangdut stars.
This year’s audition phase began with online registration, open from February 5 to May 4, 2025.
Following Makassar, the on-site auditions will continue in several other cities, including Surabaya (Sidoarjo), Prabumulih, Samarinda, and Jakarta.
Successful regional contestants will later be invited to Jakarta for the final selection stage and a chance to perform on Indosiar’s grand stage. ***
