English, Beritabulukumba.com – Nadesico Nickel Industry (NNI) conducted an external audit of its Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SMK3) from December 28 to 30, 2024.
The event began with an opening meeting at 9:00 AM WITA, attended by representatives from all departments, including top executives such as Chen Hailei.
The primary goal of the audit was to ensure the implementation of the SMK3 system aligns with Indonesia’s regulatory and legal standards.
This strategic initiative aims to create a safe, comfortable, and productive work environment, especially at NNI’s mining sites.
The SMK3 system is designed to enhance productivity while preventing workplace accidents and occupational illnesses.
Its scope includes planning, education, operational equipment evaluation, and workforce health monitoring.
All implementations are periodically reviewed to support continuous improvement in the company’s safety and health management system.
SMK3 Audit Methodology
The audit process involves document reviews, interviews, and field inspections. Findings are categorized into three levels: minor, major, and critical.
Critical findings, such as unfit equipment or unauthorized personnel lacking formal certification (SIO), are given a 24-hour deadline for resolution. Other findings may address breaches of safety regulations, fundamental K3 principles, or repeated minor errors.
The audit’s standard operating procedures are documented in formats accessible to all relevant parties, ensuring transparency and accountability.
NNI emphasized its commitment to optimizing the implementation of all SMK3 aspects, fostering an efficient, productive, and high-standard work environment.
This effort underscores NNI’s dedication to maintaining superior operational standards while prioritizing the health and safety of its workforce.
